Recently I am busy moving and doing other stuff. It's fun because it's a change of flow in life. But it caused my game development efforts to stall. That is expected though because I have heard a lot about it from other game development hobbists or indie game developers on the net. At certain point, a lot of the developers will just hit the wall...some will overcome, and some will give up on the project.
During this time I was actually trying to come up with another game idea, that has original gameplay concept, or concept that hasn't been explored well yet, with minimum arts development required. So far, I had some different ideas but none seems to satisfied the criteria.
Another thing I thought about is switching to DirectX from OpenGL. Because now it seems DirectX is actually simpler to use, at least to me. That is, to achieve the same effects, DirectX seems to provide a cleaner path than OpenGL. But switching would also require a lot of work probably.
In any case, I think I am almost ready to get back to the development. Gradually I should be able to pick it up where I left off.
